In America, it's the stereotypical dream of every high school girl to date the captain of the school sports team and gain the prize every girl on campus wants- the honour of being allowed to wear their baseball jacket. In England we're not really big on organised sport in our high schools to the same extent that our American friends are, but that doesn't mean we haven't seen the fashion potential in the baseball jackets these players have!

Baseball jackets are made from soft padded cotton, and the sleeves are typically a different colour to the main body, usually white in contrast the often navy or black main body of the jacket. Many are very faithful to the original style they are copied from, so you'll find a player number on the front and back and a team logo on the breast of the Baseball Jackets. This will make you feel like a real life baseball chick and they have the bonus of being really warm and comfortable. The press stud fastening makes them easy to get on and off, and rather than a plain zip, the press studs are part of the design and really add to it.

Some of these designs go that extra mile in authenticity and have the leather sleeves that are so iconic in America. Indeed, the phrase leather sleeves refers to this style of jacket, and being given one is an honour in most high schools for whatever team you play for. These leather sleeves add that extra bit of texture and style to the design, and it mixes well with the cotton body of the baseball jacket to give it a very stylish appearance. Some of us might be well out of high school by now, but that doesn't mean we still can't try and live that school girl dream!
